Each title incorporates multiple seamless data-sets of cloud free imagery, with their origin in NASA and other government agencies.  Each is cartographically correct, geographically accurate, and produced using the best of graphic design.  The imagery is of the highest resolution and color managed while maintaining near-true color, printed on the finest paper and in the highet resolution using archival inks.

What is a Giclee Print?

Giclee (zhee-CLAY) is the use of an ink-jet printing process for making fine art, large format, digital images.

We print on 10 mil. (0.25mm) premium luster photo paper producing vivid life-like images using Epson UltraChrome K3 ink, providing lightfastness ratings of up to 108 years for color under rigorous industry accepted display conditions. Giclees are superior to traditional lithography in several ways: the colors are brighter, last longer and are higher resolution. Prints are available up to 60” wide by any length and usually have a 1” white border included. For example a 24x34 print will be 26x36 when the white border is included.

What is a Plaque Mount?

Starting with a Giclee print on Premium Glossy paper, a 5.0 mil (0.125mm), soft, non glare, UV matte laminate is applied by heat and pressure in a heat-press. It protects the print from moisture, UV degradation and damage from handling and is ideal for archival use. This laminated Giclee print is dry mounted onto medium density fiberboard (MDF) with dry mount tissue sandwiched in between. It is sealed under heat and pressure and finished with a taped beveled edge. The final result is a non-glare, easy to clean, professional, museum quality product. Any glass cleaner and a soft cloth can be used to clean the surface.

Though various types of Plaque Mounts are available we have standardized on a type we call “Box Mount”. In this case the MDF is 1/8” thick mounted on a 1” thick frame which is flush with the edge of the MDF.

Ordering and Shipping Information for Giclees and Plaque Mounts

• All printed and all mounted maps are made to order.
• Prints will usually ship Fedex ground within 5 days of order placement, unless combined with longer lead time items or unless pick up has been arranged at the time of placing the order. We will usually combine all prints in an order in one shipment unless otherwise directed by you.
• Plaque Mounted items usually ship Fedex ground within 10 days of order placement.
• We ship to anywhere in the United States and Canada only.
• If one or more items in your shopping cart is oversized it will not be cost-effective to ship via our standard ground shipping. To get a reasonable shipping cost for you, we must get a quote from our freight forwarder. We will provide shipping charges for the entire order on request.

Returns policy for Giclees and Plaque Mounts

General Policy: If the map or mounted map is not what you expected you can send it back to us and receive a refund or replacement. In such a case we are unable to refund the shipping cost but we will gladly refund the cost of products returned in their original and 100% re-sellable condition within thirty (30) days of receipt. You will need a return Authorization Number (RAN) BEFORE you can return the product. You can request a RAN by calling our Customer Service or
by emailing us. You will need to provide your order number, item number and customer name.

Damaged products: If a product is visibly damaged at time of delivery then refuse it immediately and call our Customer Service. If the damage is not found until after the packaging is opened contact the carrier immediately and provide the information requested. Once the claim has been reported to the carrier you will need to contact us to provide us with the details so we can follow through with the claim. Custom products: In the case of a map that is customized, custom sized, custom mounted or a map printed on tile we can only offer replacement and only in the case of faulty workmanship or where there was an error in making the map. We are unable to accept returns or provide refunds for a) visibly used or altered products b) products damaged due to inadequate return packaging and c) products returned without a Return Authorization Number (RAN).
